Mark Mansfield

Mark Mansfield trained and worked in sports journalism and broadcasting for over 20 years before realising his ambition to help people to understand and overcome their fears and problems through hypnotherapy. Having studied and passed a rigorous course with distinction, Mark set about establishing his own complimentary therapy service in Haverfordwest and Cardiff. Through the New Deal Self-Employment Programme, Mark was put in contact with PBI for business support and soon began working with one of their Start-Up advisers, Sarah Winter.

Sarah and Mark began work on developing his business plan and cash flow forecasts which mapped out the issues that would arise with the establishment of the new business. Taking Mark’s drive and determination and his qualification from the Hypnotherapy Society as a starting point, they worked together on market research and financial issues, giving Mark the business confidence he would need to move the practice forward. As part of the New Deal Self-Employment Programme, Sarah became Mark’s personal mentor for 6 months, guiding him through the legal and financial aspects of setting up a business. As part of the support, Sarah was a sounding board for Mark, there to discuss any of the unexpected day-to-day matters that often turn up when running your own business for the first time. Mark has acknowledged that Sarah’s guidance has been invaluable in getting his business off to a successful start.

Mark provides a comprehensive therapy service treating a wide array of ailments and problems including conquering your fears and phobias, stopping smoking, weight loss, improving sports performance and stress management.

Mark believes that his talent as a therapist will rapidly establish a reputation for the practice. He is happy to work alongside other therapeutic services and will always suggest alternative treatments to clients if he feels hypnotherapy is not the most appropriate way to help them. Mark sees hypnotherapy as being a short-term intervention, with the treatments designed to be as quick, effective and economical for the clients as possible.

Through his professionalism Mark aims to dispel the perception some people have that hypnotherapy is a stage routine and not a ‘serious’ solution for helping people overcome their problems. One of Mark’s clients commented; “I was amazed at how powerful the whole process has been, it was really helped my overcome long term issues very quickly. Mark is professional and understanding and he has certainly helped me move forward in my life, without my problems being at the forefront of my mind”. With the continued support from Sarah and PBI, Mark is looking forward to growing his business and successfully helping client in the future.
